Dave bought the car new in 1991 and slowly started modifying it. He started
with the usual bolt-ons (headers, TB, MAF, Flowmasters, gears). After
almost 3 years, Dave got the bug for a power adder so he purchased a BBK
Instacharger (roots style). Dave ran the car for a few years with the
blower and then he purchased a set of TFS heads. In this form, the car
made 360hp at the wheels and over 400ft lbs from 2500-4600 rpm.

In the spring of 97 Dave pulled everything out of the engine bay and had the heads ported by ESI in San Diego. He then started his engine bay cleanup. Dave started by relocating all wiring to the fender wells and then polished everything that would possibly take a shine (the BBK blower was by far the biggest challenge).

Strokers were just becoming somewhat popular so Dave pieced together a kit to build his first
347. He also swapped blowers from the Instacharger to a Vortech S trim.
Power went from 360hp to 557hp at the wheels with these mods. Dave was on the edge of
reliability of a stock block so he purchased an A4 block (4 bolt main)
and he assembled a stronger shortblock. He then upgraded to a Vortech T trim
and added an Aftercooler and power went to an amazing 592hp on 92 octane gas.
